Dear Families,

Welcome to Music Together^® classes with 716 Music & More! We are looking forward to making some wonderful memories with you and your children! Below are some suggestions for a great Music Together experience and some special requests from our teachers.

• Relax and have fun! The more fun you have, the more comfortable your child will be.

• Sing! Clap! Wiggle! YOU are your child's best teacher, and as you know, children will do what you DO, not always what you SAY.

• Please save conversations for after class. We are nurturing your child's musical growth, so we like to keep a musical atmosphere.  Children will often spontaneously sing or repeat tonal and rhythm patterns between songs - listen carefully!

• Please keep your cell phone on vibrate and put it away during class. This includes using your phone to take pictures. If you must accept a phone call during class, please take your conversation outside the classroom. If there are extenuating circumstances (on call, expecting an important phone call) please let your teacher know.  

• Listen to the music frequently at home and in the car. The more you share the music with your child, the more they will enjoy the class.  Your confidence in participating in class will also increase as you become more familiar with the songs and chants. 

• Be sure to check out the Family Music Zone^® on the Music Together website (www.MusicTogether.com), and the free Music Together app available for iPhones and Android devices. The code in the front of your family songbook gives you access to all the songs for the semester in the FMZ and the app. This will give you a library of all the music and extend the classroom learning with fun activities you can do at home.

• Please keep snacks, drinks and toys out of the classroom or safely put away in your bag (infants are the exception- babies are welcome to nurse or have a bottle as needed!) We need to keep the room as safe as possible for children with any food allergies, it will help keep our room clean for our families, and it will help avoid the "chain reaction" with other children in the class. If it is necessary to give your child a snack or drink during class, please step outside until they're done.

• Please come to class on time - children LOVE to hear their name during the "Hello" song. Also, please let us know ahead of time if you will be absent.

• Please watch out for ALL the children if you see a potentially dangerous situation brewing - we are a community in class and we would like for all "our" children to stay safe and happy. In particular running should be limited, as that is very likely to lead to falls or crashes.

• Please stay home if you or your child(ren) are sick. For more specific information, please visit our Health/ Safety & General Policies page. Makeup classes are available if you miss class due to illness or any other reason.  

• We will not hold classes if the local school districts are closed due to weather or other local emergencies. Class cancellations will be announced via email and on our social media feeds. Classes cancelled by 716 Music & More will be rescheduled at the end of the session if time allows.
